A Note from Our Pastor:

“And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,”

Ephesians 1:19

Good Morning Dearly Beloved,

According to the working of his might power.

The power by which he created the universe and all the planets within it each unique in their own way. The power by which he created Adam and breathed life into him. The power by which he called Lazarus forth from the grave. The power by which after three days and three nights he was resurrected from the grave.

In accordance with that power, he has excercised like power on us to create and bring about life.

The Apostle here continues to refer to the implantation of faith, which happens at the moment of regeneration. In that moment there is a great amount of work done — both removing and replacing — which is done with the same power of God that created the universe and by which Lazarus was called forth from the grave.

The removal work — the stony heart is taken away, the old man is put off, the slavery to sin is ended — so that the child of God can be a ready recipient of the faith of God. Just as land cannot be planted until the soil is tilled the heart of man cannot receive faith until the natural man is put away.

The replacement work — a new heart is given, the laws of God are written on the heart, a new creature is formed in the grace of God, principles of light and life are embedded — so that the child of God can walk in the righteousness of Jesus Christ. That replacement can only happen by the immense power of God.

Let us remember that if we believe, it is of God, and is evidence of his powerful work on us.
