Articles of Faith

The Articles of Faith listed below were adopted by our founding members in 1932 and still represent our current beliefs.

.We believe in only one true and living God, and the trinity of persons in the God-head – Father, Son, and Holy Ghost and yet not three, but one God. –Deut. 6:4, Mal. 2:10, I Cor. 8:6, I John 5:7

.We believe that the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the divine authority and the only rule of faith and practice. – 2 Tim. 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21

.We believe that the whole of the human family were created in Adam, their seminal head and that all alike fell in him by his transgression of the law, and all partake of his sinful nature. – Romans 5:12-18-19, I Cor. 15:21-22

.We believe in a covenant of redemption by the Holy Trinity and that a definite number of fallen sons and daughters of Adam were chosen in Christ before the world began, and that they should be holy and without blame before him in love. – 2 Sam. 23:5, Heb. 13:20-21, Eph. 1:4-12, John 6:37-40, Psa. 139:15-16, John 17:1-4

.We believe that all the chosen in Christ shall be called, regenerated and sanctified by the Holy Spirit; and they will all be justified in the sight of God by the righteousness of Christ imputed to them and will be preserved through grace and never fall away. – John 6:37-40, John 17:2-4, Rom 8:28-30, 2 Thes. 2:13, John 10:28-30, 2 Tim 2:19

.We believe that a knowledge of salvation is manifest to the heirs of promise by a direct operation of the Holy Ghost in their hearts. – Eph 2:8-10, Heb. 11:6, 2 Cor. 4:16, 1 Cor. 2:9

.We believe that all the spiritual blessings that are essential for consummation of the eternal salvation of the elect were given them in Christ before the world began, and in time bestowed upon them by virtue of his atonement for them. – Eph 1:3-4, 2 Tim. 2:19, Rom. 5:9-11, 2 Tim 1:9

.We believe that baptism and the Lord’s supper are ordinances of Jesus Christ and that true believers are the only subjects of baptism and that immersion is the only apostolic mode. – Matt. 28:19-20, Acts 2:37-39, Rom. 6:4, 1 Cor. 11:24-26

.We believe that washing the saint’s feet is an example and duty, enjoyed by Jesus Christ, and should be done in church capacity. – John 13:5-15, 1 Tim. 5:10

.We believe that no minister has any right to administer the ordinances of the gospel but one who is regularly baptized and called of God and has come under the imposition of the hand of the Presbytery. – 1 Tim. 4:14-16, Eph. 3:7, Heb. 5:4, Jer. 1:5, Jer. 3:15

.We believe that none but regularly baptized believers have a right to commune at the Lord’s table. – Luke 22:29-30, 1 Cor. 11:24-29

.We believe in the resurrection of the just and unjust and that the vile bodies of the saints shall be fashioned like unto the glorious body of Christ, and the felicity of the saints and punishment of the wicked shall be everlasting. – Phil. 3:21, Acts 24:15, 1 Cor. 15:49, Dan. 12:2

.We believe it disorderly for a member of the Church to unite with any secret institutions of the day. – 2 Cor. 6:14-17
