This sermon continues the study of the first chapter of the book of Luke and in particular the announcement of the coming birth of John the Baptist. Zacharias is made to be unable to speak or hear preceding the birth of John the Baptist. In this sermon, whether or not that was a punishment, a sign, or a blessing for Zacharias is contemplated.
