In the morning let us prepare for the new day with the words of the New Testament and in the evening let us reflect on how God moves in the lives of his people.

Morning Reading from the New Testament: Philippians 4

Rejoice in the Lord always! The peace of God will guard your hearts. I rejoice at your concern for me. My God will supply your needs.

Evening Reading from the Old Testament: Isaiah 39-40

The king of Babylon sent envoys. Hezekiah showed them his treasure houses. Isaiah said, “All you have shall be carried to Babylon.”

Comfort, comfort my people. A voice cries: Prepare the way of the LORD! He is the everlasting God. He gives strength to the weary.
