In the morning let us prepare for the new day with the words of the New Testament and in the evening let us reflect on how God moves in the lives of his people.

Morning Reading from the New Testament: 1 Corinthians 16

Put aside an offering for the saints. I will come to you. The churches of Asia greet you. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.

Evening Reading from the Old Testament: Proverbs 13-14

The righteous hate lies. Hope deferred makes the heart sick. Whoever heeds reproof is honoured. Whoever spares the rod hates his son.

The talk of fools is a rod for their backs. Even in laughter the heart may ache. Those who oppress the poor insult their Maker.
