In the morning let us prepare for the new day with the words of the New Testament and in the evening let us reflect on how God moves in the lives of his people.

Morning Reading from the New Testament: Acts 27: 1-25

We set sail for Rome. A storm struck and all hope was lost. Paul said, “Take heart, we must run aground.” Everyone reached land.

Evening Reading from the Old Testament: Psalms 50-52

The Mighty One, God the LORD speaks: “I will not accept bulls and goats. For you hate discipline. Offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving.”

Have mercy on me, O God! Cleanse me from my sin. Do not cast me away from your presence. A broken heart, O God, you will not despise.

Why do you boast of evil, O mighty man? Surely God will bring you down to ruin. But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God.
