In the morning let us prepare for the new day with the words of the New Testament and in the evening let us reflect on how God moves in the lives of his people.

Morning Reading from the New Testament: Luke 23: 39-56

Jesus was taken to Pilate. The crowd said, “Crucify him!” He was crucified with two criminals. Darkness fell and he breathed his last.

Evening Reading from the Old Testament: 1 Kings 8-9

The priests brought the ark into the temple. Solomon said, “O LORD, if anyone prays toward this place then hear from heaven and act.”

The LORD said to Solomon, “If you walk in my ways I will establish your throne.” Solomon did not make slaves of the sons of Israel.
