In the morning let us prepare for the new day with the words of the New Testament and in the evening let us reflect on how God moves in the lives of his people.

Morning Reading from the New Testament: Luke 23: 1-26

Jesus was taken to Pilate. The crowd said, “Crucify him!” He was crucified with two criminals. Darkness fell and he breathed his last.

Evening Reading from the Old Testament: 1 Kings 3-5

Solomon married Pharaoh’s daughter. He asked the LORD for discernment. Two women came before him and he judged between them wisely.

Solomon had officials and twelve governors. He ruled from the River to the land of Egypt. Men of all nations came to hear his wisdom.

Solomon sent to King Hiram: “I will build a house for the LORD. Cut down cedars for me.” The workers prepared the timber and stones.
