In the morning let us prepare for the new day with the words of the New Testament and in the evening let us reflect on how God moves in the lives of his people.

Morning Reading from the New Testament: Luke 22:31-53

Jesus took Passover with the disciples. He prayed at the Mount of Olives. Judas betrayed him to the chief priests. Peter denied him.

Evening Reading from the Old Testament: 2 Samuel 23-24

David’s last words were: “My house is secure with God.” David’s mighty men included the three who brought him water from Bethlehem.

David numbered the people of Israel and then regretted it. The LORD sent a plague. David bought Araunah’s field and made offerings.
