In the morning let us prepare for the new day with the words of the New Testament and in the evening let us reflect on how God moves in the lives of his people.

Morning Reading from the New Testament: Luke 18: 18-43

Jesus gave parables about prayer. He told a rich man to sell everything. He said, “The Son of Man will be killed but he will rise.”

Evening Reading from the Old Testament: 2 Samuel 4-6

Ish-bosheth lost heart. His captains Rechab and Baanah killed him and took his head to David. David commanded that they be killed.

David was anointed king over Israel. He took Jerusalem and the LORD was with him. The Philistines gathered but David defeated them.

David brought the ark from Judah. Uzzah touched it and was struck down. As the ark came into the city David danced before the LORD.
