In the morning let us prepare for the new day with the words of the New Testament and in the evening let us reflect on how God moves in the lives of his people.
Morning Reading from the New Testament: Mark 14: 26-50
Jesus took Passover with his disciples. He prayed in agony in Gethsemane. Judas betrayed him to the chief priests. Peter denied him.
Evening Reading from the Old Testament: Deuteronomy 20-22
When you go to war, do not be afraid; the LORD is with you. As you go to attack a city, offer terms, except to the cities of the land.
If a dead body is found, the city elders must cleanse the guilt. Give your eldest son his portion. A rebellious son shall be stoned.
If you find your neighbour’s ox you shall return it. If a man falsely claims that his new wife was not a virgin he shall be punished.
