In the morning let us prepare for the new day with the words of the New Testament and in the evening let us reflect on how God moves in the lives of his people.

Morning Reading from the New Testament: Matthew 14: 1-21

Herod had John the Baptist killed. Jesus fed 5,000 men with five loaves and two fish. Jesus came to the disciples walking on the sea.

Evening Reading from the Old Testament: Genesis 44-45

Joseph hid his cup in Benjamin’s sack, then sent a steward after his brothers. Judah offered himself as a slave instead of Benjamin.

Joseph told his brothers who he was. They were afraid, but he told them, “God sent me here.” His brothers went to fetch their father.
