In the morning let us prepare for the new day with the words of the New Testament and in the evening let us reflect on how God moves in the lives of his people.
Morning Reading from the New Testament: 1 Corinthians 7: 25-40
It is good to stay unmarried, but better to marry than to burn with lust. Each should live as God has called. I want you to be free.
Evening Reading from the Old Testament: Psalms 128-131
Blessed are all who fear the LORD. You will eat the fruit of your labour. May the LORD bless you from Zion all the days of your life.
They have greatly oppressed me from my youth. But the LORD has cut the cords of the wicked. May all who hate Zion be put to shame!
I cry to you, O LORD! If you kept a record of sins, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness. O Israel, hope in the LORD!
My heart is not proud, O LORD. I have quietened my soul, like a weaned child with its mother. O Israel, put your hope in the LORD.
