In the morning let us prepare for the new day with the words of the New Testament and in the evening let us reflect on how God moves in the lives of his people.
Morning Reading from the New Testament: 1 Corinthians 6
Do you take one another to court? Why not rather be wronged? Your body is not for sexual immorality, it is a temple of the Spirit.
Evening Reading from the Old Testament: Psalms 120-123
In my distress I cry to the LORD. Deliver me from a deceitful tongue. Woe to me! Too long have I lived among those who hate peace.
I lift up my eyes to the hills; my help comes from the LORD. He who keeps you will not slumber. The LORD will keep you from all evil.
I was glad when they said, “Let us go to the house of the LORD!” The tribes go up to give thanks. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
As the eyes of servants look to their master, so our eyes look to the LORD. Have mercy on us! For we have endured much contempt.
