In the morning let us prepare for the new day with the words of the New Testament and in the evening let us reflect on how God moves in the lives of his people.
Morning Reading from the New Testament: Acts 5: 1-16
Ananias and Sapphira told a lie and fell dead. An angel released the apostles from prison. Gamaliel advised, “Leave these men alone.”
Evening Reading from the Old Testament: Esther 1-3
King Ahasuerus gave a feast for all his officials. Queen Vashti refused to come to him, so the wise men advised him to replace her.
Mordecai raised Esther. She was taken into the king’s harem and was chosen as queen. Mordecai told Esther of a plot against the king.
Ahasuerus promoted Haman, but Mordecai would not bow to him. Haman asked to destroy the Jews. The king gave his seal for the decree.
