In the morning let us prepare for the new day with the words of the New Testament and in the evening let us reflect on how God moves in the lives of his people.

Morning Reading from the New Testament: Acts 1

Jesus said, “You will receive the Spirit and be my witnesses.” He was taken up in a cloud. The believers cast lots to replace Judas.

Evening Reading from the Old Testament: Ezra 9-10

The leaders told me that the people had taken foreign wives. I tore my robe and prayed, “O God, we have forsaken your commandments.”

The Israelites wept. They all assembled and Ezra said, “Separate from your foreign wives.” The family heads investigated the matter.
