In the morning let us prepare for the new day with the words of the New Testament and in the evening let us reflect on how God moves in the lives of his people.

Morning Reading from the New Testament: Luke 21: 1-19

Jesus said, “The temple will be thrown down. Jerusalem will be trampled. The Son of Man will come in glory. Stay awake at all times.”

Evening Reading from the Old Testament: 2 Samuel 17-18

Ahithophel wanted to pursue David, but Hushai advised gathering Israel. Absalom listened to Hushai. Hushai sent a warning to David.

The servants of David defeated Israel. Absalom got stuck in a tree and Joab killed him. Ahimaaz and the Cushite ran to tell David.
