In the morning let us prepare for the new day with the words of the New Testament and in the evening let us reflect on how God moves in the lives of his people.

Morning Reading from the New Testament: Luke 17: 20-37

Jesus said, “If your brother repents, forgive him.” He healed ten lepers. He said, “In his day the Son of Man will light up the sky.”

Evening Reading from the Old Testament: 1 Samuel 30-31

The Amalekites had raided Ziklag. The LORD told David to pursue them. David and his men rescued the women and divided the spoils.

The Philistines fought Israel. Saul’s sons were killed. Saul was badly wounded so he fell on his sword. The Israelites fled.
