In the morning let us prepare for the new day with the words of the New Testament and in the evening let us reflect on how God moves in the lives of his people.

Morning Reading from the New Testament: Luke 7: 1-30

Jesus healed a centurion’s servant and raised a widow’s son. John sent messengers to Jesus. A woman washed Jesus’ feet with her tears.

Evening Reading from the Old Testament: Judges 1-2

Judah defeated the Canaanites and took Jerusalem. Joseph put Bethel to the sword. But the Canaanites were not driven out completely.

After Joshua’s generation died the Israelites served Baals. The LORD sold them to their enemies but raised up judges to deliver them.
