This week our Old Testament readings move into the book of Judges. It is very probable that the book of Judges was written by the Prophet Samuel. If it is true that Samuel was the author, then this book was likely intended for an audience of the people under King Saul or King Saul himself. The references in the book to a time with no King are backward looking and were meant for current education of the people.
