In the morning let us prepare for the new day with the words of the New Testament and in the evening let us reflect on how God moves in the lives of his people.

Morning Reading from the New Testament: Mark 8: 22-38

Jesus fed 4,000 people and healed a blind man. Peter said, “You are the Christ.” Jesus told them that he must be killed and rise again.

Evening Reading from the Old Testament: Numbers 26-27

The LORD told Moses and Eleazar to take a census. There were 601,730 fighting men and 23,000 Levites. Only Joshua and Caleb remained.

The daughters of Zelophehad were given an inheritence. The LORD told Moses that he was to die. Moses commissioned Joshua as leader.
