For those that have followed along whether on this site, through Facebook or other social media, or by email you have likely seen our weekly posts which give daily bible reading suggestions. As Pastor of the Amarillo Primitive Baptist Church, I hope these suggestions have been an encouragement to you to engage in reading the scriptures daily. Whether you read your entire bible in 2015 or just a portion of it is of less importance than having a desire daily to be engrossed in God’s Holy Word.
For the last two years, I have used the same approach to construct the daily bible reading suggestions. The approach was to read from a particular section of scriptures on the same day each week. Gospels one day, Psalms another, and so on and so forth. If you would like to continue to use that approach you can always go back through the posts for 2014 and 2015 and continue in that method. However, this year I will be using a new process for daily reading suggestions through the Amarillo Primitive Baptist Church’s website.
For 2016, each day will have a morning and evening reading suggestion. Morning readings will be from the New Testament and evening readings from the Old Testament. Starting on New Year’s day and continuing through the year you will see one weekly post which gives the overall reading goals for the week and then daily posts with each day’s reading. If you are able to stay with the suggestions you will be able to complete the entire reading of your bible by New Year’s Eve of 2016.
May the Lord Bless you in the year to come.
