In the morning let us prepare for the new day with the words of the New Testament and in the evening let us reflect on how God moves in the lives of his people.

Morning Reading from the New Testament: Luke 24: 36-53

The women found the tomb empty. Jesus met two on the road to Emmaus. He appeared to the disciples and opened the Scriptures to them.

Evening Reading from the Old Testament: 1 Kings 12-13

Rehoboam refused to reduce the labour demands on Israel. So all Israel except Judah made Jeroboam king. Jeroboam made golden calves.

A man of God cried out against Jeroboam’s altar. He disobeyed the LORD by eating at an old prophet’s house and was killed by a lion.
